Valentino 2017 – Fashion Maven of the Future

My dears, the colors were exquisite. I was near to tears over the vibrant yellow of one dress. It was impossible to select just a few items to represent such a beautiful collection, but then this is Valentino.

For Fall 2017 Valentino dazzled us with dresses that drape the female body to perfection. And the coats. Oh my, the coats. Yes, there were solid colors where again the palette was transcendent. Do note the footwear of the model wearing the pale gold coat. How fun! But for me the prints were divine. Can one do without at least one of this fabulous creations?

The man behind the show, Pierpaolo Piccioli, says he was inspired by Victoriana and the Memphis Group. The high collars and waists of many of the dresses were très romantique.  I fell in love with the billowing dresses sans waist and the boots they were paired with. I must, must have a pair of those boots in every single saturated color. With matching handbag where possible, because they too were magnificent.
