It all started with a dream…

The inspiration for the stories I write comes in many ways. Shane: Marshal of Tallav, my first romance novel, was born of an ongoing waking dream I’d start playing in my head any time insomnia struck. The second and third books in that series came from a desire to tell the love stories of characters in Shane. Maon had already found the love of his life. He was the opposite of Shane, a typical house husband from the matriarchal planet of Tallav. On the surface. Underneath, there was much more going on. Maon: Marshal of Tallav is his love story.

I’m currently writing Randolph’s story. That’s taking a lot of digging to find out what makes him tick, especially since he’s a sexual sadist. How did that come about? Rand has lots of scrumptious inner struggles pushed to the fore by unexpected events.

The novella I’ve just finished revising was inspired by a prompt in the Kink in Ink writing even in the Goodreads BDSM Group. Members posted an image and wrote a prompt, including what they hoped the story might include. I began the story that became It Takes a Cat Burglar, but set it aside when it began to deviate from the prompt too radically. I made another attempt and posted “The Key” to the group. It’s currently available as a free download to anyone who subscribes to my newsletter.

The novella I’m working on for the Cosmic Love Cabaret anthology with the SFR Shooting Stars pulls in a character from Shane, Adrianna’s mentor at the Opio Institute. Master Trey isn’t looking for love. Which is probably why I needed to write a story just for him. This is a shorty that has a happy-for-now ending. A novel just for him is a possibility to turn that happy-for-now into a happily-ever-after. He’ll have to suffer before he arrives. That’s a given.
